Ron Adams, President

Ron has been Assistant Director, Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Development at Northwestern Mutual since January 2015. He is a member of the national diversity committee for the association for advanced life underwriting (AALU), and a member of the advisory committee for the MKE Fellows program. Ron serves on the leadership team for Cardinal Stritch University’s African American Leadership Program, a nine month transformational leadership development program.

After a 26 year military career where he served in many roles including the Wisconsin National Guard’s diversity officer, equal employment manager, human resources’ branch chief, operations officer, and completed two successful company commands, he is currently the public affairs officer for the 32nd infantry brigade combat team. Ron is a recipient of the Army’s General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award and the NAACP Roy Wilkins Renown National Service Award and many other military awards and decorations. He is member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the National Guard Officers Association. He is the past president of the board for the Greater Madison Federal Agency Association and past vice president of the board for the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI). Ronald holds a BS in Business Management, and earned a MA in Strategic Communications and Leadership from Seton Hall University. Ron is a student of leadership and has a passion for leadership development. In his free time, he loves spending quality time with his wife Angela, and their three daughters. [BACK TO TOP]

Michal Ann Dawson, Vice President/Secretary

Michal Ann is retired as Deputy Commissioner of the Department of City Development for the city of Milwaukee. Her work experience includes: Special Assistant to Mayor John Norquist; Staff Assistant to the Commissioner of City Development; Staff to the Finance and Personnel Committee of the Common Council; Past Commissioner of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage Commission; and Past Commissioner of the Plan Commission of the City of Milwaukee. Besides her involvement with VetsNet, Michal Ann is currently a member of the Shorewood Community Development Authority and Vice President of Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI). Her past memberships include: Professional Dimensions; YWCA of Greater Milwaukee; YMCA of Greater Milwaukee; Women’s Fund of Milwaukee; Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC); Select Milwaukee organization; and Menomonee Valley Partners Michal Ann earned her BA and Graduate Education credential from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has pursued graduate work at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Michal Ann is married to Chris Dawson, PHD researcher at the Medical College of Wisconsin. They have two children, Marcey Gulley (teacher) and Brian Dawson (lawyer), and five grandchildren – Dawson, Kana, Christopher, Jona and Jesse. [BACK TO TOP]

Eric Weiss, Treasurer

Eric Weiss is the founder and CEO of an importing company with offices in Brookfield, Fort Wayne, IN and Shanghai, serving businesses throughout the greater Midwest. While not a veteran himself, he has long supported veteran organizations and causes. Eric earned a Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he took extensive Chinese language courses. He also earned his MBA from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign. Eric has remained active in the community through the coaching of youth soccer and basketball. He has served on the board of Lake Country Montessori as well as serving as Treasurer for the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative. Eric and his wife have four young children and live in Brookfield, WI. [BACK TO TOP]

Dan Driscoll, Board Member

Dan Driscoll was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1985 and served on Active Duty as an Intelligence Officer until his retirement in 2012 with rank of Captain. Dan’s overseas assignments include Japan, Korea, Iraq, Bahrain and command assignments in Europe and Afghanistan. His sea duty includes several deployments as part of the USS Midway, USS Saratoga, USS Eisenhower battle groups and as the Senior Intelligence Officer for the USS Enterprise (CVN 65). His personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit, and Defense Meritorious Service Medal with two bronze oak leaf clusters. He is entitled to wear the Kuwait Liberation Medal, Saudi Liberation of Kuwait Medal, Iraq and Afghanistan campaign medals, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal with bronze oak leaf. Dan is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University and the Naval War College. Currently, Dan is the Department Service Officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Wisconsin representing more than 13,000 Veterans and their family members to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. Dan lives in Milwaukee with his spouse Mary Jo, also a U.S. Navy Veteran. Dan and Mary Jo enjoy cycling in their spare time and lending their efforts to Veteran causes.  [BACK TO TOP]

Tim O’Malley, Board Member

Tim serves on the board of Wisconsin Veterans Network, VetsNet. Tim is not a Veteran, however is dedicated to serving all those who have worn the uniform. He has many veterans in his family who have demonstrated the values of patriotism, honor and sacrifice. Tim is a Director of Private Wealth Management at Baird. Tim and his team focus on wealth enhancement, transfer and protection, as well as charitable planning for their clients. Tim is a multiple recipient of Baird’s highest client-focused honor, the G. Fredrick Kasten, Jr. Award. In addition, he was an inaugural member of Baird’s “1919 Club”, acknowledging Tim and his team’s significant contributions to Baird through the years. Tim is a graduate of Drake University. He has also earned the Certified Financial Planning designation or CFP®. Active in his community, Tim is past president of several local boards and is involved with many charities and organizations. Tim enjoys golf, skiing and road trips with his family. He and his wife, Julie, live in Delafield and have two grown children. [BACK TO TOP]

Quentin Hatfield, Executive Director

A native of Kentucky, Quentin received his BA in Economics and MBA in Marketing from Morehead State University, KY. Served in the U.S. Army Vietnam, Bronze Star. Quentin served in various capacities in marketing and manufacturing companies during his career in the private sector. In his last three positions he was CEO of three different companies in the promotional marketing industry in Minneapolis, Northwest Iowa and St. Louis. The companies ranged in size from $25 million to $125 million in revenue. He has been named Iowa Business Person of the Year, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the year for Iowa and Nebraska, Bobbin Magazine CEO of the Year and various other honorariums. He has also served as a volunteer with the VA Hospital in Lexington, KY and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused children. Quentin and his wife, Lynn, live in Germantown, WI, and have two children and three grandchildren. He enjoys travel, reading, plus golf and model railroading with his grandchildren. [BACK TO TOP]
